Theory & Practical Combined

The Easy Plumb Theory course, covers all the underpinning knowledge required to take you to the City & Guilds 6129 (Technical Certificate in Plumbing). If you wish to obtain an NVQ Level 2, (6089) which is a work-based qualification, this can only be achieved through on the job assessments carried out in the workplace.

A far quicker and cost-effective route to kick-start your plumbing career, is to gain two City & Guilds competency based, stand-alone qualifications, City & Guilds 6022 / City & Guilds 6032. These qualifications coupled with basic plumbing skills allow you to work as a plumber, help build your confidence and knowledge, gain some experience and also allows you to start building your portfolio of evidence to help towards an NVQ Level 2. Sudents receive full guidance and advice on how to create a portfolio.

Practical Training Weekend Workshops

Practical Workshop 1
(Includes City & Guilds registration & Certification)

Copper Tube Domestic Installation
City & Guilds – 6022 Certificate
2 Day Course

This workshop covers practical plumbing and helps gain confidence coupled with practical skills with enough knowledge necessary for installing various domestic appliances, including baths, WC’s, sinks etc.

Topics covered: Copper Tube bending/ jointing/ basic soldering principles, compression fittings, plastic pipes. Leaks & bursts, changing taps & washers, noise problems, airlocks, WC flushing problems. Draining central heating systems.

You will be Assessed on: Copper tube bending, jointing and installation, planning, maintenance and testing.

Practical Workshop 2
(Includes City & Guilds registration & Certification)

Bathroom Installation
City & Guilds – 6032 Certificate
2 Day Course

This workshop covers installing and commissioning of bathroom suites. You will be able to install new bathroom suites or repair /renew existing bathroom fittings.

Topics covered: Isolating hot & cold water supplies. Bath, WC, Pedestal Washbasin fittings, common fitting problems and connecting the services. Common faults, flexible hoses, splash backs & floorings.

You will be Assessed on: Bathroom Planning and installation. Planning Maintenance and Testing.

Practical Workshop 3
2 Day Course

This workshop follows on from workshops 1 & 2, where you will take your City & Guilds examinations and practical assessments.

Day 1 – Examination & Assessment for C&G 6022
Day 2 – Examination & Assessment for C&G 6032.

These workshops are designed to train you to meet most domestic requirements.
